Fall

Fall is finally here.  I don’t know where this year has gone.  The boys are growing up so fast.  Somewhere between moving homes, a busy business, and family trips this year, Wiley and Owen have turned into little boys.  They have opposite, and yet complimentary personalities.  Owen does everything for attention and he gets plenty of it.  He’s the resident ham.  His squished-nose-cheese-face cracks me up every time.  Wiley is quite the problem solver and is also becoming an adept foodie.  I love that he loves eating ‘stinky cheese’ (Bleu Cheese) with me.

Some of my favorite things:

– The boys routinely beat down my office door just to come in and give me a hug.

– This morning, Owen packed a balloon and a Mickey Mouse in a bag and announced that he was going to work them left the room.  It makes me wonder what they think I do all day.

– The boys love of books is almost insatiable.  As a bibliophile myself, I love it.  They come home from the library with new adventures and have recently learned about tapirs and ant eaters.

– Everything around the boys is new and exciting.  They find adventure in the ordinary.

– Wiley walks up to people at church just to give them hugs.  He steals everyones heart.

– Owen’s first girlfriend is Minnie Mouse.  He sleeps with her every night, wants her to wear his socks, and he requests that she goes everywhere with us.  They don’t know it yet, but we have a trip to Disney planned next month for their second birthday.  I can’t wait.

– Wiley was washing his hands the other day and stopped to look at himself in the mirror.  Then he said, “fish”, puckered his lips, practiced for a moment, and quietly got down.  It was adorable.

The boys have become quite the little fish. They love it when we praise them for doing tricks and call them 'The Trick Master'.

Whatever strange thing the one boy does, the other must also try.

The boys love to go on walks in their red wagon. They also like singing the song, 'bumpin' up and down in my little red wagon'.

Somehow, while mamma was away, jumping off of objects became a 'thing'.

We spend most of our days talking about bugs, hearing about bugs, pretending not to be grossed out by the kissing of bugs, and convincing Owen that the black beans on his plate are not bugs.

Play dates in the new backyard are fun. We hope to have a lot more this fall as the weather cools. Wiley is interested in food, as usual and Owen is interested in the girl, as usual.

Mamma got a new bike as an early Christmas gift and these boys love their trailer.

I love this and they love each other.

This is happening. Not because they're ready, but because they ask. Practice make perfect, I suppose.

Owen and Wiley love watching us cook in the kitchen. I can't wait until they're cooking with us.

A little grilling on the first day of Fall. We had Bradley's sausage.
